Avid Systems has extensive experience developing embedded applications for ARM based processors such as the OMAP, Tegra and Cortex. The applications are written on the Linux operating system. These processors are used in an embedded environment and perform signal processing, connectivity such as USB and TCP/IP, GUIs and hardware control. These powerful processors add tremendous capability to the Avid Systems product line.
The embedded processors in the Avid Systems product line are used to provide simplistic GUIs for operators to control complex signal processing systems. In addition, the embedded processors provide complex signal processing capabilities that utilize multi-core processors that run at several GHz. Ethernet connectivity is of great importance to the Avid System product line. The ability to switch data at high rates to other devices allows for systems to be easily scalable.
